Azolium-2-thiocarboxylate zwitterion ligands have emerged as a promising class of compounds in the field coordination chemistry due to their unique structural features and versatile applications. These are characterized by positively charged azolium ring negatively thiocarboxylate moiety, making them capable forming stable complexes with various metal ions. One key aspects that make these attractive for is ability adopt diverse modes centers. The nature enables engage both monodentate bidentate coordination, resulting formation chelated enhanced stability controlled geometry or polynuclear structures.
